About Us

Established in 1999, the Somali Community Center of Colorado (SACCC) provides education, support, advocacy, and assistance to youth, students, and families from refugee and immigrant populations. The SACCC provides education, community outreach, referrals, and linkages to program participants and their families.

The SACCC is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization. The staff and the board of directors are multilingual educators, business professionals and volunteers with years of experience responding to the needs of refugees and immigrants.

Mission Statement

The mission of SACCC is support adult, teen and child refugees and immigrants and families in successfully navigating America's social service and healthcare systems. SACCC provides support to middle and high school students and their families, as well as services that lower the risk of preventable health issues, drug and alcohol use and gang involvement.

Objectives

To increase community awareness pertaining to the differences of American culture and the Somali culture and promote a smooth transition into American culture.

To promote the growth of the Community Center through networking with similar organizations, fundraising functions, and utilizing volunteers (especially Somali refugee volunteers) to reach out to the community as a whole.
